DAY 01 – 23 FEB 13 – Arrival Cochin
Welcomed by Kerala Travel Centre representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Kochi, as it is called now, offers you the best of history and culture anywhere in the state. A port town since early centuries Cochin attracted traders and invaders from the world over. One can see snippets of the different eras and influences in the many attractions in Cochin. The place is broadly divided into two areas- Ernakulum which is a bustling cosmopolitan metropolis and Fort Cochin which is the cultural hub where the hotel is located. Step out of the hotel and you are within walking distance of other attractions like the Chinese fishing nets, said to have been left behind by Chinese traders in the 15th century.

In the evening, go on a sunset cruise to catch a glimpse of the city’s skyline at dusk.

DAY 02 – 24 FEB 13 – Cochin
Today you can go on a sightseeing tour to explore the many fascinating highlights of Cochin which include - The Jewish Synagogue in what is locally called the Jew Town, St. Francis Church which is the oldest European Church in India, the Santa Cruz Basilica built in 1557 by the Portuguese, the Dutch Palace, the Spice market and the 15th century Chinese fishing.

In the evening, optional visit to see the famous dance drama of Kerala, the Kathakali. This dance is characterised by some great story telling, amazing costumes and extensive make-up.

DAY 03 – 25 FEB 13 – Cochin – Munnar (150 Km / 4 h)
Drive to Munnar a hill station located 1600 meters above sea level. Once the summer resort of the erstwhile British administration in South India it still retains its colonial charm and is famous for its tea plantations, most of which are privately owned. With its sprawling estates, rolling hills, sparkling waterfalls, picture postcard hamlets and undulating valleys, Munnar is an ideal holiday destination.

Check into your hotel and unwind. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the ambience of Munnar.

DAY 04 – 26 FEB 13 – Munnar
Today you take a visit tea museum, take a short trip to the Eravikulam National Park (home to the endangered Nilgiri Thar mountain goat amongst others) or simply walk through the enchanting tea estates and enjoy the tranquillity it provides. Overnight at the Bracknell Forest.

DAY 05 – 27 FEB 13 – Munnar – Periyar (110 Km / 4 h)
Drive to Periyar an area known for its undulating hills, spice plantations, and elephant sightings. One of the 27 tiger reserves in India, the Periyar valley in Thekkady is the oldest. Check into your hotel.

You can go for a spice plantation tour today where you will be enticed by not only the aroma of spices like cinnamon, cardamom, pepper and nutmeg but will also get to know how they are grown, harvested and processed before they reach the supermarkets.
Also you can go for an Elephant ride today.

DAY 06 – 28 FEB 13 – Periyar
The most popular activity that a tourist can enjoy in Thekkady is boating in the Periyar lake. One can see the wild animals along the gringe of the lake foraging, bathing, drinking and resting. It would be a greater fun if one is lucky enough to see the elephants playing with their babies in the lake.

DAY 07 – 01 MAR 13 – Periyar – Kumarakom (135 Km / 3 ½ h)
Drive to Kumarakom, the enchanting backwater region of Kerala and check into your hotel. The labyrinthine network of rivers, canals, streams and lagoons which form the famed backwaters offer stunning views and is an ideal place to relax. Day at leisure.

Enjoy the Ayurveda with a general full-body massage. Overnight at the Abad Whispering Palms.

DAY 09 – 03 MAR 13 – Kumarakom – Houseboat (by boat)
Embark on your private houseboat and cruise on the Backwaters, a splendid area full of canals, lakes and coves. Your houseboats or ‘Kettuvalloms’ are luxurious boats with well-appointed bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. You can sunbathe on the deck or observe the palm fringed landscape from your cabins. Apart from the mesmerizing surroundings it’s the life along the coast that adds a touch of exotica to this experience.

The locals’ travel in canoes and you will find vegetable sellers, fishermen and other traders bringing household goods, door to door in small wooden boats. As you cruise along the backwaters you can ask your captain to stop at villages, paddy fields and other places, enroute.

Disembark from your houseboat in Alleppey and drive to Kovalam, one of the most popular beach destinations in Kerala and check into your hotel. Kovalam consists of three adjacent crescent beaches separated by rocky headlands, of which the southernmost Lighthouse beach is the most famous. DAY 01:            CHENNAI (ARRIVAL)
Up on arrival at Chennai airport , meet & Greet followed by transfers to Mamallapuram Its enviable position on the Coromandel Coast, facing the Bay of Bengal, guarantees that this is a popular place to stay. Spend time on the white-sand beach shaded by casuarina trees and hire a bike to pedal through the surrounding countryside but make sure you allow time to explore this wonderful open-air museum, much of which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site  On arrival check in & relax. DAY 02:            MAMALLAPURAM
Morning after a  Leisure breakfast we proceed to  visit Arjuna's Penance -Nothing can prepare you for the wonderful bas-reliefs covering two huge boulders. The exquisite detail, dating from the 7th century, depicts the flow of the Ganges down from the Himalayan mountains as well as scenes from Indian daily life.The Five Rathas-You won't believe that these shrines are carved whole from an outcrop of rock. Each of the five temples is dedicated to heroes from the great epic of the Mahabharata. Spend time admiring the detail of the carvings which include gods, humans and elephants and wonder why the temples are incomplete and were never consecrated.Shore Temple - Relish the delightful seaside location, overlooking the Bay of Bengal, and landscaped gardens surrounding the Shore Temple, a popular place for the locals to visit. DAY 04:            THIRUVANNAMALAI
Join the thousands of pilgrims who head for Thiruvannamalai and experience this deeply spiritual city located on arid plains. Home to many meditation  and yoga centres, many of the faithful are drawn here seeking treatment from the siddha yogis residing in the town .  Arunachaleshwara Temple - Home to the largest temple in India dedicated to Lord Arunachaleshwara, the spectacular gopuram (tower) is 66m high and dates from 750AD. Enjoy the colourful parade of pilgrims as they walk around the perimeter of the temple in order to receive the blessings of Lord Arunachaleshwara. DAY 06:            PONDICHERRY – TANJORE                                                                                             (190km/5h)
Depart from Hotel after early breakfast and Drive to Tanjore ( Rice bowl of south india) . Enroute we stop at visit Dharasuram situated 40 km from Tanjore. Here we will visit the Airatesvara temple from 12th century of Chola architecture constructed by Raja Raja II.The row of large statues around the temple was replaced with brick in the 14th century and Columns with unique Further drive towards Tanjore  - Despite its important history and culture, Tanjore is surprisingly overlooked by visitors to South India. A bustling market town in one of the main rice-growing regions of Tamil Nadu, Tanjore was once the capital of the Chola empire and, although many buildings from that period no longer survive, the town is still full of lovely temples.

DAY 07:            TANJORE  - MADURAI                                                                        (165km/4.5h)
Depart from hotel after breakfast and proceed for visiting - Brihadeshvara TempleThis magnificent temple, over 1000 years old and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, evokes the power of the Chola kings as it towers over the town. Study the detailed inscriptions which depict temple life and the dancers, musicians, potters, goldsmiths and astrologers who lived there. Enter the pavilion in the main courtyard to view the shining black Nandi statue, one of the largest in India, and weighing an astonishing 25 tons Bronze casting with a history of traditional bronze casting take the opportunity to view the masters at work using the lost-wax method. This method, used to create sacred temple bronzes during the Chola period, is still practised today and is being passed down through the generations to ensure that bronze casting continues to thrive!! DAY 08:            MADURAI / TOUR IN BICYCLE RISHAW

DAY 12:            NATTIKA
Morning you will have One hour Yoga session. After breakfast we take You  excursion to Cochin - visiting - ‘The Jewish Synagogue’ (closed on Friday & Saturday) at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town, ‘The St. Francis Church’, the oldest European Church in India, ‘The Santa Cruz Basilica’ originally built in 1557 by the Portuguese, The Dutch Palace (closed on Friday & Saturday), Spice market at the narrow streets. Evenings by the Chinese fishing area are very lively with the daily fish market in here. All the live catch from time to time comes to sale. If you are a person who likes to eat fish, then you can buy very fresh fish from here and ask the nearby restaurant to cook the same for you . Return back to Hotel . Overnight in Nattika

DAY 01:            BANGALORE (ARRIVAL)
Up on arrival at Bangalore airport, Meet & greet followed by transfers to hote.l Bangalore - got its name from the words “Bendha Kaalu” (which means boiled beans in the local language Kannada). King Veera Ballala of the Vijayanagara kingdom was once lost in a forest and happened to stumble upon a lonely cottage. The city has grown in magnitudes, emerging into what you see and know of today. (Over night in Bangalore )

DAY 02 :          BANGALORE – MYSORE                                                                                  (140km/3h)
Depart from Hotel after Breakfast and drive to Mysore -You will be charmed by the faded grandeur of Mysore, the former capital of the much loved Wodeyars dynasty who reigned from the 16th century. A city rich in heritage, make sure you discover its royal palaces, sacred temples and majestic buildings but leave time to stroll through some of its many parks and gardens or along a wide leafy boulevard. Evening we visit Chamundi Hills Head up Chamundi Hill for panoramic views of the city spread out below before exploring the exquisite hilltop temple dedicated to the goddess, Chamundi and dominated by a 40m-high gopuram (tower).  Make a short stop at the huge statue dedicated to Nandi, the bull of Lord Shiva, on the way down. DAY 03:            MYSORE
Morning we proceed to visit Mysore Palace You can't fail to be impressed by this vast palace, with its turrets, domes and arches and an opulent interior with intricately carved doors and ceilings. Wander through the luxuriously furnished rooms, once home to the royal family, and admire this treasure trove of works of art from all over the world. If you are in Mysore on a Sunday or national holiday don't miss the spectacle of the palace illuminated by thousands of light bulbs.Jaganmohan Palace Spend time perusing the collection of 19th century paintings in this former palace. The skill of the Indian artists, using natural vegetable and mineral dyes, is extraordinary. Enjoy the traditional Mysore 'gold leaf' paintings which are on display here. (Over night in Mysore)

DAY 04:            MYSORE – KABINI                                                                                                       (90km/2h)
Depart from Hotel and drive to Kabini - you will experience how Nature has created a mystic aura under a leafy sky. You will be caught at once by swirling and meandering mist that undoubtedly creates an atmosphere of awe and wonder . the place used to be a hunting lodge of Rajas and some other Indian royalty for their ‘shikar’. When life becomes unbearable for the din and bustle of city life, it would be wiser to switch yourself off from all network of the outside world and wander around Kabini in the lap of nature. Here, morning is amazingly fresh that it gives a new zeal to life to fight the otherwise dull, drab and mundane life. On arrival  check in to the Hotel. Evening  we go on a jeep safari for wildlife sighting and have a truly mingling of wild life for a unique experience. Morning after breakfast we Proceed for Kuruva Island  - If you want to get away from it all and experience a little peace and quiet, take a picnic to this uninhabited island on the tribituaries of the Kabani River. Cross on foot when the water is low or take a small ferry. Explore the dense forest looking for the rare birds, that call the island home, and exquisite orchids . DAY 07:            WAYAND – CALIICUT – COCHIN

Depart from Hotel after Breakfast and drive to  Calicut railway station to connect onward train to Cochin ,.On arrival at Ernakulam station , you are transferred to fort cochin -  European influences are instantly apparent in this charming town picturesquely located on a number of islands squeezed between the Arabian Sea and the Kerala backwaters. The maritime history of Cochin is reflected in its blend of Dutch, Portuguese and British architecture. Overnight in Cochin

DAY 08:            COCHIN
Meander through the old districts of Mattancherry and Fort Cochin where the various European influences are most apparent with merchant houses and old warehouses cramming the waterfront and narrow streets. Take in the Pardesi Synagogue in Jew Town, St Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, and the highly decorated Santa Cruz Basilica. Allow time to admire the colourful murals, including depictions of the Ramayana, in the 16th century Dutch Palace.  Linger in the colourful, pungent spice markets before moving on to the much-photographed Chinese nets that line the shore of Fort Cochin. In the evening, Witness the epic Ramayana comes to life at a Kathakali performance, traditional Keralan dance, where the characters use larger than life gestures, wear outrageous costumes and dramatic  make up. DAY 09:            COCHIN – ALLEPPEY                                                                                       (65km/1.5h)
Drive to Alleppey, embark on your private houseboat and cruise on the Backwaters, a splendid area full of canals, lakes and coves. Your houseboats or ‘Kettuvalloms’ are luxurious boats with well-appointed bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. You can sunbathe on the deck or observe the palm fringed landscape from your cabins. Apart from the mesmerizing surroundings it’s the life along the coast that adds a touch of exotica to this experience.The locals’ travel in canoes and you will find vegetable sellers, fishermen and other traders bringing household goods, door to door in small wooden boats.
